Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Dies at the Age of Sixty.

US actor Finn, who appeared in iconic programs including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.

The skilled improv artist died at home in LA recently following cancer treatment since 2022, according to news outlets.

"He considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones stated in a announcement.

They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".

An Extensive Career on Screen

His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.

He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He starred as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.

During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on several well-known programs, such as:

  • King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

He was most recognized for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.

His cinematic roles are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Off-Screen Life

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was part of a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.

"He guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.

Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he posted publicly.

The actor is survived by his partner Donna, his children, and his family.
