Head Made Contact to Duckett After Video Scrutiny
The two batters have been on opposing sides in the recent Ashes contests.
Australian opener Travis Head disclosed that he made contact to English counterpart Ben Duckett following a online footage circulated appearing to show the player in a drunken state prior to the Melbourne Test.
Reports indicated that members of the squad were consuming significant amounts of alcohol during a break in the coastal resort of Noosa in the gap between the second and third Tests.
One unconfirmed video resulted in increased attention on the team and on Duckett in particular.
"I have a good relationship with Ducky well contacted him to see if he was going alright," stated Head.
"Everyone is still human. Your actions in your own time is up to you.
"I understand we live a very public life and certain individuals are more high profile than others.
"Ultimately, it is a rather harsh but I don't think there is any genuine problem."
Background of the Incident
England's four nights in Noosa followed they had fallen 2-0 down in the Ashes series after losses in Perth and Brisbane.
Several news organizations reported that some players were consuming alcohol for a significant portion of their time on the Queensland coast, as well as on two earlier days in Brisbane.
Though they gave an better performance in the next Test, they lost in Adelaide to concede the series to Australia.
Head's Perspective
Speaking after England's victory in the fourth Test, Head remarked: "I felt envious.
"Everyone has blown it out of proportion than was necessary.
"We have done the very same on past tours. I don't have an problem with it."
