Manchester United v Brighton & Hove Albion – English top flight Match Report

Preamble

Man Utd, coming off victories against Sunderland and Liverpool, aim for three Premier League wins in a row this evening. The wind’s behind them with Ruben Amorim in charge now more than ever!

Yet, their visitors tonight are Brighton & Hove Albion, who have won on each of their last three trips to Old Trafford, and six of the last seven fixtures head-to-head.

Forget the momentum; it’s been straightforward very comfortable. Having said all that, Brighton are otherwise famously erratic similar to their opponents, so this game is both fascinating and potentially rollickingly good entertainment.

Start time is 5.30pm BST and we say this for the last time in a while because remember the clocks fall back tonight, everyone. Let’s go!

Selection Changes

United decided on two changes after their 2-1 win against Liverpool. Benjamin Šeško comes in instead of Mount, relegated to the bench, while last week’s win-securing hero Maguire is absent completely, Leny Yoro taking his place at the back.

Maguire picked up an injury this week in practice. Malacia returns on the bench for the first time this season.

Brighton have made one change after their 2-1 home win against the Magpies. Seemingly a tactical shift, including Maxim De Cuyper replacing Gómez, now among the subs.

The striker, ex-United player to win the Premier League during the 2012-13 season, comes back to Manchester with great momentum scoring four in three, an improvement on in his previous 15.

Build-Up

Amorim is unfazed for the opinions of the Reds’ manager … but Danny Welbeck is highly concerned regarding the plans from the German coach.

Various reports suggest that this match may influence their campaigns during the league campaign progresses.

Key players to watch are Bruno Fernandes for United and the Brighton forward in blue and white, both in fine form recently.
