"That's a bit unusual but then, I enjoy sprinting and just go inside - I'm not staying back that much," he added.

"I tell my defender 'I'm not staying' and that I'm just going to continue attacking.

"That running is what I'm after. It's enjoyable."

In addition to Cisse's six goals on his first game, Ireland has scored eight in three appearances for Wythenshawe, while Boyd scored 5 on his debut appearance and Joleon Lescott, a centre-half by trade, scored a triple in one game up front.

Paul Barrow, 38, who features on the wing for Collegiate OB, faced former Latics full-back Figueroa on the weekend - and had to explain his young boy who Emile Heskey was.

"It was going round like wildfire they had these ex-Premier League players," said Barrow.

"I think I was a bit awestruck facing him to be honest.

"Even Heskey got on and he's has 60-odd England caps.

"Our side competed well for a good 20 mins but then we had a player dismissed and it was hard.

"Our group literally haven't ceased chatting about it - I was calling my mother and brother on the way home.

"They were all friendly, shaking our hands after the match - it was like facing a bunch of normal fellas.

"Now we can't wait for the return match."
